BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Avondale Regional Library this summer is launching Avondale Library Book Club Freestyle, a new book club dedicated to that feeling of freedom when it comes to reading.

In this book club, participants read ANY book they choose and join fellow book lovers to discuss what everyone is reading. Avondale Library Book Club Freestyle will debut at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 25 at Avondale Library, 509 40th St. South. It is among 400 activities for kids, teens and adults being offered in 19 locations as part of the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) 2018 Summer Learning programs.

Avondale Library Book Club Freestyle is a fun way to share the book club experience while still having the freedom to choose your own reading material. Hearing about the books other people have selected is a great way to find new titles and authors to enjoy. The North Avondale Children's Picture Book Club meets the second Wednesday each month at 3:30 p.m. It is comprised of school-age children.
