Media release: Dannon Project, BPL Team up to co-host 2019 Civic & Wellness Fair at the Central Library on March 6
Do you want to get a free health checkup, gain access to numerous healthcare resources and give the gift of life by donating blood at the same event?
The Dannon Project and the Birmingham Public Library are co-hosting a 2019 Civic & Wellness Fair on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. The event, taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Central Library, will include a blood drive, career fair, and wellness fair featuring vendors offering healthcare services and resources.
During the blood drive, all blood donors will receive a free cholesterol screening and recognition item from LifeSouth Community Blood Centers. Donors must be 16 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, and show a photo ID. Those age 16 must have written parental permission to give.
The Civic & Wellness Fair will include free services such as:
Blood pressure check
Diabetes screening
Vision screening
Glucose and cholesterol screening
STD/HIV screening
Blood drive
A Career fair featuring resources available for job seekers
