How To Register For The Covid-19 Vaccine

There is a new, online registration method for Jefferson County residents to be notified when they are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. To sign up for notification, go here. Currently, Jefferson County is vaccinating frontline healthcare workers and some emergency first responders. Starting next week, anyone over 75 and in other categories of essential workers, may start getting the vaccine. The online form is used to inform the Jefferson County Department of Health of one’s intent to take the vaccine once it becomes available for a person, based on the ADPH allocation plan.

As a reminder, a Jefferson County vaccine information hotline is available for those with questions about the COVID-19 vaccine. The number is 205-858-2221.

Birmingham residents should be aware of possible scammers calling homes, especially the elderly, and posing as health teams available to provide free, in-home COVID-19 vaccines. Anyone receiving such a call should just hang up, according to Alabama officials. Residents are encouraged to file complaints with the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-800-392-5658 or send emails to ConstituentAffairs@AlabamaAG.gov. Go here for more info.
