HUD: Eviction Prevention Resources for Homeowners and Renters

Hardships from the COVID-19 pandemic continue to be felt across the economy.  The federal eviction moratorium expires on July 31st.   The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) partnered on a housing assistance website to help homeowners and renters during the coronavirus pandemic.

We are reaching out to you to be sure that Alabama homeowners and renters are aware of the many resources available to prevent displacement through eviction and hope that you will share this website.  You can find resources you can share by visiting the CFPB’s website.

Also, for your awareness, the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness has developed a Step-by-Step Guide for renters that are at risk of eviction.  You can find the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) guide at the following link:  Step-by-Step Guide for People at Risk of Eviction

Please note that resources are continually developing as our federal, state and local partners respond to resident needs.  Please contact us at AL_Webmanager@hud.gov or you can email me directly at Kenneth.E.Free@hud.gov with any questions about the resources we are sharing here.

With your support, we can make a difference in the lives of many homeowners and renters reeling from the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you,
