On Monday, Oct. 1, Municipal Court installed new closing hours in an effort to put people first.
The building will now close at 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
On Fridays, the building will close at 5 p.m.
Updates on the times for the cashier windows at Municipal Court:
Cashier windows will continue to open at 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.
The cashier windows will close at 5:30 p.m., Monday – Thursday.
On Fridays, the cashier windows will close at 4:30 p.m.
What happens in Municipal Court?
Municipal Court’s building is known as the David J. Vann Municipal Justice Center, which is located at 801 – 17th St. North. This is where people pay city citations such as parking and traffic violations. This is also where city judges hear municipal cases.
New hours for the Municipal Services Building
The Municipal Services Building offers probation services, the magistrate’s office, social workers and educational services. This building is next to Municipal Court. The address is 808 – 18th St. North.
Monday, Oct. 1, marked the start of new operating hours for the building. They are Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Fridays, the hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please remember that parking is no longer allowed behind the Municipal Services Building, also known as the Comer Building. The city no longer owns the parking lot behind the Comer Building. If you park there, the new owner will have your car towed.
