Large Trash and Brush Pickup - THURSDAY (3.18.21)
Future Dates: Friday (4.9.21)
Thursdays (4.29, 5.20, 6.10)

Buildings with dumpsters DO NOT receive city pickups.

Leaves and smaller brush and trash MUST BE BAGGED. Larger limbs/branches and furniture items can be piled neatly.
If space allows, make separate piles: trash/furniture/mattresses/appliances/etc. in one and another pile for plant materials (leaves, limbs, brush) to be mulched by the city.
They use two different trucks, and making separate piles helps them stay efficient.

Alabama Apart Together - Pandemic Support Services

https://alabamaaparttogether.org/

I am Shonda Johnson, neighborhood secretary for Killough Springs in District 1. I wanted to make you aware of a program that I am
affiliated with called Alabama Apart Together as a Crisis Counselor. Alabama Apart Together is a crisis counseling program funded by a grant whose purpose is to facilitate supportive services to Alabamians impacted by COVID-19. In other words, ALL of us!

The pandemic has changed our lives in so many ways, and change, whether good or bad, causes stress. According to the CDC, stress during an infectious disease outbreak can sometimes cause the following:
· Fear and worry about your own health and the health of your loved ones, your financial situation or job, or loss of support services you rely on.
· Changes in sleep or eating patterns.
· Difficulty sleeping or concentrating.
· Worsening of chronic health problems.
· Worsening of mental health conditions.
· Increased use of tobacco, and/or alcohol and other substances.

Through community outreach, we will be providing a listening and supportive presence and education to individuals, groups, organizations, and businesses. We also can provide information about community resources such as testing sites, food distributions and financial assistance. Our State of Alabama toll free number, (888)442-1793, is available 24/7 to provide
emotional support. Our services are provided telephonic and/or virtually for safety. Our services are brief, confidential, and free. We do not diagnose and are not attached to any employee benefit program.

As you can tell, I am excited about this program and I am available to share more. If you know of people who would benefit from this, PLEASE pass the info on. They can call (888)442-1793 or if they want to reach out to me personally, I can be reached Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 PM using the contact information below.
Thank You in Advance,
Shonda Johnson
